Cowz Posted December 8, 2018 Share #1  Posted December 8, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) OK..... Leica flash newbie here and I apologise if this has been rehashed, but I could not find this problem/combination anywhere.  All literature indicates both units are HSS capable. I have my SL setup, with a SFC1 controller triggering a SF60.  I am trying to overcome ambient light in areas where the background can blow out, such as outdoors using low fstops. They work well together in TTL and M modes up to 1/250s. When I venture into HSS country, my SFC1 indicates HSS is active but the SF60 does not operate at all..... It almost seems as there is a HSS mode on the flash that is not operating.  I wonder if the HSS capability of the SF60 only works when the flash is mounted above the camera???? HELP!!!!!!! PS...... I want to use this combination on my M10 too.
Advertisement Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Hi Cowz, Take a look here HSS with SFC1 and SF60. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sillbeers15 Posted December 8, 2018 Share #2 Â Posted December 8, 2018 (edited) Check if your SF C1 Commander is set to 'M' on 'M/TTL' button for shutter speeds > 1/250 sec when 'HSS' is indicated on commander. The issue has been feedback to Leica but Leica has yet to offer a solution. Same issue on M10. It seems to be fine with Q. For HSS to work on M10 & SL through SF40 (directly hot shoe mounted only) and SF60 (hot shoe mounted & via SF C1), the flash must be in TTL mode only.
