Squiddly Posted November 25, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 25, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just got my first Leica camera, a C-Lux. It's also my first camera which has a battery that can be charged via USB. I've tweeted Leica-USA and emailed them but haven't gotten a reply to this question yet. Can I use a portable phone battery/portable charger/power bank type thing to charge my battery? The specs state that it needs to be plugged into a computer or the Leica charger, ONLY. But since the USB cable is standard USB-A, I would think it's fine to use the above, like you would use to charge a cell phone on the go. Examples of what I mean: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FMXGLS7/?coliid=IHP1U39J62AXA&colid=145UH80VAZUF4&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EETOTWS/?coliid=I1FGNSK8RKWLNY&colid=145UH80VAZUF4&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it Does anyone know for sure? Thank you!

Squiddly Posted November 26, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted November 26, 2018 Someone from Leica answered me - and the answer was yes. I was also wondering if the USB charger could be plugged into a normal power strip/extension cord. Normally I don't ask these kinds of questions for electronics but the manual was very specific - plug directly into a USB port on a computer OR plug the charger into the wall. I don't want to void the warranty or wreck the battery on this expensive camera. Thank you in advance.
