steve203 Posted November 18, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 18, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) My Q, when switched off feels as though there is something loose inside the lens. Everything works just fine and I am assuming this is something to do with the optical stabilisation but it doesn't feel like any other camera I have ever used. Should it still move when my Q is powered down? It really is a strange feeling. Please could someone assure me that this is normal for a Q. Thank you. Leica Guy Posted November 19, 2018 Share #2 Posted November 19, 2018 Its not a problem. It’s the OIS powering down. Everyone’s Q does it. Relax and enjoy your beautiful camera. This has been discussed extensively on this forum and keeps coming back up as new Q owners join in the discussion.
steve203 Posted November 20, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted November 20, 2018 Thanks for your reply. I figured it was to do with the OIS but just concerned that it still did it long after the camera is powered off.

The noise Steve203 mentions is not "OIS powering down." This noise occurs anytime the camera is turned off as its a "floating" component. Maybe the leaf shutter?' Regardless, Steve203 is correct that all Qs exhibit this and its 100% manufacturer intended.
steve203 Posted November 21, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted November 21, 2018 Appreciate the advice, as long as I know this is normal behaviour I can carry on and enjoy using my Q, thanks.

You might be right. I just shook my camera (gently of course) and I can hear a slight sound of something moving. It’s a part of the OIS as I remember. Totally normal. My camera works perfectly. No noise when the camera is powered on.
