joklys Posted July 17, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 17, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear forum, I'm planning, similar to Stefan in "Around the World with Ilford XP2", a long journey around the world (but not flying so often). And unlike Stefan I don't know what film I should use. Do you have any experiences / recommendations for robust b/w-films in tropical weather, heat, and no fast developing? What b/w-films are available in central-asia? Thank you very much for your help, Johannes

vic vic Posted July 17, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 17, 2007 wow man...... great first of all and have great fun......... for tropical weather...... try pan-f-50 / fp4 / hp5......... they are all great films .. so choose the speed that you want..... those films hold very well in hot weather and can wait without immidiate developing after exposure.......... the newer maco/rollei films supposed to be a very robust films as they claim (and there are good reasoans to believe them although i have not experimented them in extreme condition so far)............ Guest stnami Posted July 17, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 17, 2007 people make too much of the tropical caper, unless you plan to bury your film and retrieve it later anything is ok. There isn't too much B&W film available so take it with you, even in the larger cities it can be a search, hey they love their colour. Don't expect to get a roll of B&W from a Loatian boatman but he probably will have a roll of colour stashed with his digital as emergency for the odd tourist along with a pack of SD cards........... Photoskeptic Posted July 17, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 17, 2007 Johannes, I've always used Delta 100 with success in the tropics.
