Hi all, I just purchased an M4 with a collapsible 50mm Summicron. And I've been having a problem mounting the lens, wanted to see if anybody had the same problem with me.

Basically the lens doesn't rotate until it clicks, instead it gets stick right before it reaches the end. The Dropbox link below has photos of where it stops, and inside of the mount.

I'm going to take it to a repair shop on Monday, but wanted to see if this is a simple problem that I can solve tonight so that I can take it out tomorrow.

Sounds like something was bent. What did the repair shop say?

Normally the button with the little red dot on the camera is the one which  makes a click when you reach the end. Maybe you reach the end already, but the button makes no click.

Do not force it. Press the button without lens several times it should very easy come up and down. the part with the red dot has to reach about 0,5mm over the cameras mount, when not pressed. You easyly can open the screw, clean up the button from old grease, then attach 1 tiny drop of good oil to the mechanism.

By mounting the lens it presses down the button until the catch in the lensmount reaches it and the button pops up with a click, preventing the lens from fallen down.

The bottom of the lens should look clean and smooth, if something there is bent or the edges of the catch are worn you will recognize it.

If the does not solve the problem I would go to the repairman.
