Marcial Posted October 25, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 25, 2018 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I joined the forum back in January and have posted infrequently but visit regularly. I had reservations about joining a on-line photo community after having a negative experience with the Leica group in Photo.net many years ago. This forum seems much more civil. I've been a Leica M user since 1985 and have gone through multiple M models and lenses and over the years developed a respect and affection for the company and the product. A side trip to Wetzlar this summer was thus inevitable once DW and I decided on a bike trip from Berlin to Copenhagen. It was a most excellent adventure- rewarding in both the art and hardware aspect. The longer story is this post: https://smortegav.blogspot.com/2018/10/red-dot-tourism.html . Hi Marcial, that's a felicitous wording that pinpoints my own stance on Leitz/Leica as well. Though I have currently no Leica body in action I'm a dedicated user of Leitz/Leica lenses on a Fuji X-T1, three pre-aspherical Luxes-M and a lot of Elmarits-R. My old M4-P reminds me on times in the eighties when I scrolled wishfully in the Handbuch des LEICA Systems but was far away from affording everything I liked. I read about your excursion to Wetzlar. I don't want to hyperbolize but it gives a certain feeling of affiliation to be on the site where the gear comes from. I was several times in Solms and Wetzlar to have things fixed and it was always interesting (besides looking at new products in the showcases). Thanks for sharing. rdc
