oldwino Posted October 24, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 24, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was really hoping that Leica would hit it out of the park with the new M10-D. You know, take the great concept of the 262 M-D and improve on it, tweak it a little. Make it into something no true Leica fan could resist But this...no, no, no. i was hoping that an amazing M10-D would result in the market being flooded with nice, now much cheaper, 262 M-Ds as folks trade up. Now, that’s not going to happen. if anything, the 262 M-D is even more valuable now. Prices on used M-Ds will just go up. Thanks, Leica...

NigelG Posted October 24, 2018 Share #3 Posted October 24, 2018 Was just thinking that myself - no need to trade or splurge on yet another body and used values will be solid. If this is the direction then the current MD is the end of the line for me for a screen less M.

budjames Posted October 25, 2018 Share #6 Posted October 25, 2018 I don't get the M-D. I have two M10s and love the ability to use LiveView with or without the VisoFlex attachment. I would think that if you want to go back in time before LCD screen on the back of camera, you would opt for a film Leica. albertknappmd Posted October 25, 2018 Share #7 Posted October 25, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I agree with Bud... Never understood the appeal of an absent LCD in the digital age... Just close your eyes and ignore it.. Albert 😒

astrostl Posted October 25, 2018 Share #9 Posted October 25, 2018 I don't trust tricky exposures w/o checking, so it's a no for me. As for "just ignoring" the screen though, I could similarly just ignore the fact that my previous cameras/lenses had autofocus. But I sure like it better when they don't. hteasley Posted October 26, 2018 Share #10 Posted October 26, 2018 I just wish it were cheaper. If Leica offered a straight up M10 for M10-D trade I'd do it. But I'm not going to pay more for it. You can't convince me its not cheaper to produce.
astrostl Posted October 26, 2018 Share #11 Posted October 26, 2018 I could squint and see some kind of an argument about the cost of designing and tooling up for it, combined with low sales volume.

Photon42 Posted October 26, 2018 Share #13 Posted October 26, 2018 I do not mind if prices would go up for the 262 MD. I do actually think it is a really slick machine and the back paint with the silver applications look absolutely priceless. This is the one camera from the old generation which never appeared chubby to me. Not sure I would even swap it 1:1 for the new one. May just be that I am heavily biased, though 😍
