andybarton Posted July 17, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 17, 2007 That's one hellava big scampi... Can you use manual focus on your V-Lux?
stunsworth Posted July 17, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 17, 2007 A bit of garlic and lemon juice and it'd be perfect <grin>
elansprint72 Posted July 17, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 17, 2007 Can you use manual focus on your V-Lux? Can anyone use manual focus on a V-Lux?!! It is the one feature that I dislike, instead of the focus ring working like a "normal" lens, i.e. rotating between two points, it just goes round and round. It is possible to use either of the two "manual focus assist" modes but it does require a lot of practice. Tasty subject, I'd add black pepper and butter to the lemon and garlic. andybarton Posted July 17, 2007 Share #5 Posted July 17, 2007 The reason that I ask is that the camera seems to have focused on the glass and not the prawn. If Chris had been able to use manual focus, then that would have made a difference.

Chris and I had correspondence a while back about the V-Lux and came to the conclusion that it's not a bad tool. I think this focus problem is common to many autos; don't know how/if you can fool them into not seeing the glass.
stunsworth Posted July 17, 2007 Share #7 Posted July 17, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don't thinks it's focussed on the glass. The front of the pincers - nearer the glass - is more out of focus that the head - look at the hairs on the feelers just below the head.

That would be the thing that my Physics teacher told me about then...... doh!
