hgredo Posted September 24, 2018 Share #1 Posted September 24, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi guys, im a new happy owner of this magnificent camera, the MP. I run the first roll today and i have a coulple of questions: 1) Is it me or the shutter release is "too deep"? I mean it takes a lot of travel until the shot is fired. 2) When i actually take the shot, the film advance lever moves a little, is this normal? Thanks!

Edgar1920 Posted September 26, 2018 Share #3 Posted September 26, 2018 Hi hgredo, I also have a Leica MP among other M cameras and I stated that the shutter release point is a bit deeper than other Ms. I did not question myself further about this fact and use the camera without problem. Maybe a logical reason could be that as the MP has a exposure meter (compared e.g. with my M2) the first part of the release button’s stroke is for metering before releasing the shutter. Don’t remember hoe it was on my M6 some years ago. Best regards. Frank
