defotobakker Posted September 23, 2018 Share #1 Posted September 23, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I red an article about the Leica CM and that they are even more scarce than just the limited production numbers because Leica offered an exchange program to the buyers. A digital Leica in exchange for a CM . is that true, or just a made up story ? best regards, Arnoud.
Advertisement Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Hi defotobakker, Take a look here did Leica had an exchange program for CM to digital. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rjans Posted September 24, 2018 Share #2 Posted September 24, 2018 (edited) Arnoud Going back in time, the Leica CM was released in 2003 and was with a 3 year warranty. The CM Zoom was released in 2004. I remember that after a certain time when the CM broke Leica could not repair the camera due to lack of parts. There was also a new legislation about certain metals used in cameras that became forbitten. Some people, perhaps it was within the warranty period, did get a prposal to switch to a digital compact, the D-Lux 3 I presume. I don’t remember if the proposal was free and I doubt that currently the exchange proposal is still valid.
