Going back in time, the Leica CM was released in 2003 and was with a 3 year warranty. The CM Zoom was released in 2004. I remember that after a certain time when the CM broke Leica could not repair the camera due to lack of parts. There was also a new legislation about certain metals used in cameras that became forbitten. Some people, perhaps it was within the warranty period, did get a prposal to switch to a digital compact, the D-Lux 3 I presume. I don’t remember if the proposal was free and I doubt that currently the exchange proposal is still valid.
