dcarter Posted July 14, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted July 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello friends, I have read about the CCD sensor on the Digilux 2 going bad... I have been waiting and wondering... if, when and where it might happen to mine. Well, all of a sudden my Digilux 2 will not turn on, zip, nadda, nothing....and there was nothing leading up to it, so I am wondering if this type of problem is indicative of the sensor failure and if anyone eles has had this type of failure??? I sent it off today and I know it can take a while to get it back, but I am hoping that it is the CCD and am looking forward ending the uncertainty of when and if it would fail. Annie135 Posted July 14, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted July 14, 2007 The symptoms you describe don't sound typical for sensor failure. In my experience and reading other reports the camera will still switch on and appear to work, only the LCD will show all sorts of weird and wonderful effects. Â Brian. judybabinski Posted July 14, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted July 14, 2007 My Digilux sensor failed completely without any lead up. The camera did turn on, and the LCD did show data. However, it would not show an image and the image files were black, ie empty. Â The camera has been in NJ since mid April waiting for the sensors to come from Germany. NJ is now estimating end of July at the earliest. Â Judy
ajthornbury Posted July 15, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted July 15, 2007 Hi, Mine did start to show pink streaks to the picture, then finally went dead. Apparently failed sensors show different symptoms. Contact Leica for confirmation.
