dkCambridgeshire Posted September 2, 2018 Share #1 Posted September 2, 2018 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Ladies Tresses Orchids (Spiranthes spirales) have commenced blooming in Cambridgeshire UK; these specimens were photographed at Langdyke Countryside Trust's, Swaddywell Nature Reserve near Peterborough yesterday. The orchids are are less than 12cm in height. Plan to photograph them again when in 'fuller' bloom. First image taken with SL 601 fitted with TL 11-23mm at 17mm (FF equiv. 25mm) plus Marumi 3 diopter close-up lens … the wide angle view showing the orchid and its habitat. The 11-23mm is considerably lighter than the SL 24-90mm for this type of imaging. Welcome, dear visitor! dkCambridgeshire Posted September 2, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted September 2, 2018 (edited) Apparatus showing SL 601 fitted with TL 11-23mm and Marumi 3 diopter supplementary c/u lens … and Berlebach mini wooden tripod with built-in levelling head - a very useful camera / lens support for ground level imaging. For this type of imaging a camera with an articulated monitor would be preferable e.g. my Sony A7SII … may try it next trip with a Leica R 19mm lens. Welcome, dear visitor!
