Advertisement Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Hi sdw, Take a look here What do you do with your audio dongle? (Leica AA-SCL4 audio adapter). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
BernardC Posted September 1, 2018 Share #2 Â Posted September 1, 2018 I zip-tie it to my cage. In your case, you could zip-tie it to the bracket that is holding your light and microphone.
trickness Posted September 2, 2018 Share #3  Posted September 2, 2018 (edited) Boy, whoever created that adapter needs to be thrown off a bridge. I never looked under the door and I just assumed that there would be a typical audio input like every other pro DSLR I’ve owned. Is there a practical reason why they didn’t do it this way? I never looked under the door and I just assumed that there would be a typical audio input like every other pro DSLR I’ve owned. Is there a practical reason why they didn’t do it this way?   All the ports are a total puzzle. USB 3 with a giant connector? Full size HDMI? This dongle thing? I am guessing they figured if Apple can do it with laptops, they can do it with their cameras.
BernardC Posted September 2, 2018 Share #5 Â Posted September 2, 2018 All the ports are a total puzzle. Â One more thing: you can either use the wired remote, or audio, but not at the same time. They share the same port. Â The S has the same connections, but uses different connectors for USB, audio and remote. That's a lot of $300 cables to keep track of if you use both systems! Â The full-sized HDMI port is the one good decision of the bunch. Smaller HDMI ports are fiddly and unreliable. Â Leica had the right idea with the M-240: put all the extra ports in the grip.
