I love the rendering, almost regardless of what I'm photographing.

Playing around with a new edit. Not sure I like it yet but I have so much time here photographing the same things that I’m sure I’ll get there in the end!

According to its official listing the building - which has Grade II Listed status - most likely dates to c. 1688 and became a pub in 1772. The wall-mounted Carriage Lamp seen (in a 'blurred' way) is still Gas-Lit.

According to its Wiki entry;

'Situated in what was a violent area of Covent Garden, the pub's upstairs room once hosted bare-knuckle prize-fights leading to it being nicknamed "The Bucket of Blood"....'

Camera was an M-D Typ-262 fitted with 1974 v2 sporting a Circ. Pola., shot taken at f1.4.

I don't like the out-of-focus rendering in the second photo.

You got another of my old haunts there Robbie!

The Series 2 illegally parked on the double yellow lines could well of been mine too, ( especially parked like that ), it took another few decades to lose my Landrover obsession that begun in the late 60's lasted well into this century.

I started work in this game in the Covent Garden area in a studio / processing lab on Southhampton Street in a building that was home to many IPC magazines, like Country Life, Womans Own etc etc.............Covent Garden was still the veggie market at that time too,

So I knew that pub only too well back in the day, the Lazenby Court back alley entrance came in handy more than once when someone you wanted to avoid came in the Pub's Rose Street's front doors...........They also had what was perhaps London's most dangerous dartboard, it was tucked into a corner by the door of the Ladies and a few times a dart hit the opening door instead of the board, I think that counted as a "double top ".

Thanks for the memories Philip!.......

Another shot of the Blue Posts pub on Berwick St, Soho, from yesterday during a brief respite from the heatwave.

Generally Soho's grid layout of tall & narrow streets mean direct sunlight comes and goes but by late afternoon it often re-appears here from the West and bounces off the glass walls of the modern buildings opposite.

The pub windows show various cooling approaches.
