But the highlights are slightly blown and it would be nice to pull a bit more shadow detail out of the dog. It would be worth working on, because the image is very cool. You can always dig out shadow detail in Photoshop, but blown highlights are gone forever. And if I have time, I bracket like mad. I think your cropping on the first shot worked well.
