Who knows, but if so, all the more reason to get the MM1 and hold off on another Monochrom. If one can’t make great pics and prints with the MM, gear isn’t the issue.

The MM1 is a good camera in its own right.

The biggest advantage of waiting for the M10 Monochrom is that it will take the same batteries and use the same charger as the standard M10. I had the M240 and the MM1 and got fed-up of having to take two sets and batteries and chargers so updated the Monochrom to the 246. I now have an M10 but will think about upgrading the MM246 for the same reason, among other reasons, as I much prefer the M10 base camera over the M240.

I have had both (MM1 and M246) and I prefer (and still have) the MM1. It is a combination of several subjective factors:

--prefer the lighter, less clunky body design of MM1

--prefer the simple and clear menus of MM1; it's much easier to quickly see and change key settings (and there are fewer settings to change)

--didn't like the "design clutter" of the movie mode on M246

--found that live view was of low value and distracting on the M246; I have other cameras that are much better at live view when that's how I want to shoot

--am not bothered by the loud shutter on the MM1

--am not bothered by the low-res screen on the MM1

--prefer the shutter button release feel on the MM1; it has more travel and is less abrupt than the M246

--do not feel that the M246 offered a meaningful difference or improvement in image quality

--the sensor on my MM1 was replaced in June 2017, so no worries on that front

--I stocked up on older-generation, low-capacity SD cards (still available for purchase new on amazon), and have not had data issues, freeze ups, or banding problems with the MM1

I will admit that the M10-M will be tempting, but until then, the MM1 is working well for me. If there are any issues with the resulting images, it's due to my ability, not the camera's limitations.
