chanyr Posted July 10, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just got a new M8 and in comparison with the viewfinder meter leds to my M6 classic, the meter leds are smaller and darker. The LEDs also have more bleeding and double images e.g. The faint outline of a second triangle can be seen. In the M6 the edges are very sharp. There is also a faint reddish box around the LEDs. Is it normal to see these artifacts?

steve_l Posted July 10, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 10, 2007 Same for me re bleeding and ghosting, and there have been some reports of people with out-of-focus LED's that got sent back and adjusted - I'm not sure if that is my (our) issue or if it is in the normal range... On mine, if i position my eye so that the LEDs are at the very bottom of the finder - just touching the bottom visible edge - they are clear.
Shootist Posted July 10, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 10, 2007 Depending on where I place my eye in the viewfinder I can see 2 images, overlayed and slightly offset, of the LED readout or just one, eye must be near the top or bottom of the rear port. I can also detect a slight reflection to the right hand side. But I really don't see a box around it. I do use a Diopter and I suspect the overlay is a reflection off the glass of the normal rear port and the glass of the diopter. Never really bothered me and never really noticed it until I read your post. Now I hope it doesn't bug me every time I bring the camera up to my eye. Ignorance is bliss, thanks for ruining my bliss.
