Photon42 Posted July 11, 2018 Share #21 Â Posted July 11, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica adapter and any lens you like. Â Â I second that. It is the best approach. Â I do use Nikon lenses from time to time and stack the Leica-M adapter with the Nikon G to M adapter (Novoflex in my case).

ramarren Posted July 11, 2018 Share #22  Posted July 11, 2018 Yes.  I was at the Leica Store San Francisco yesterday, handling and testing the CL using my Voigtländer Color Skopar 28mm f/3.5, Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21mm f/4 ASPH, Macro-Elmarit-R 60mm f/2.8, and their APO-Macro-Elmarit-TL 60mm f/2.8 lenses. I set up the camera to make JPEG+raw files, formatted one of my 16G SD cards for it, and made several captures with each of the lenses of the same targets.  All the lenses worked beautifully: Focusing was easy, all of this set of lenses proved a compact and easy to handle size and weight on the CL body, and the imaging results when the DNG files are viewed in Lightroom are all excellent.  To my delight, the lens profile for the Leica Summaron-M 28mm f/5.6 proved to be a perfect match for the Color Skopar 28 as well! I have to experiment with that in Lightroom using files out of the M-D...

I have to experiment with that in Lightroom using files out of the M-D...   A little digression:  I just checked. The Lightroom provided lens profile for the Summaron-M 28 used with the Color Skopar 28mm does a decent job of correcting a the bit of rectilinear distortion the lens makes, but does nothing for the green-red color shifting on the FF format image. That's still going to need CornerFix to process it out.  The color shifting all happens outside the APS-C 16x24mm format frame, so this lens works very nicely on the CL body with the Summaron-M 28mm lens profile.
