I've been noticing at many Leica stores that many TL lenses are back ordered.  Likely its due to lenses being produced in batches and perhaps also due the popularity of the CL. Some lenses such as the 11-23 seem to have not been in stock for awhile.

Any insights on what is typical for Leica on release schedules for existing product among the lens lines?

Thanks!

At a certain moment B&H did get some new supply of the (if I recall correctly) 11-23mm but I see it is now back-ordered again.   It is a weird situation... Not sure what to think of it.

No new 18-56TL in stock yesterday at Red Dot, London - they said they were coming through very slowly, but snapped up on arrival.

Just as I was leaving they remembered they had just taken one in part exchange. So I got it at a decent discount  :)

The 18-56mm is actually still in stock in the US.  It's the 2 other zooms that have been unavailable since a while already...

they're too busy making the SL90/SL75

The TL-lenses (except for the 35mm and the 60mm) are made in Japan, so a shortage of resources should not be the reason I guess...
