johnastovall Posted July 7, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 7, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I currently have and use a CV Nokton 35/1.2 on my R-D1. I saw in another thread to use it the "black plastic tab' needs to be removed for infinity focus on the M8. Since I see an M8 in my future and would like to use my CV lenses on it, I need to know is this what needs to be removed. I didn't get the lens from Camerquest but it came with the R-D1 used from RFF. Here is a picture of my lens base. If it requires removal, who does this kind of work? I ground down and bevelled the shroud/tabs on my lens, but that was long before the official modification kit was available. A word of warning, the tabs aren't plastic they're fairly hard steel and not easily machined. The official modification is by far the best way to go. Some people don't seem to have a problem with the lens on the M8 whereas others do. In my case the tabs only fouled the inside of the camera on one side. Maybe there is sufficient tolerance in how accurately the internal camera chamber is positioned with respect to the lens axis to sometimes cause a problem. Bob.
