I am a new owner of an SL camera and I use only the focus mode Af-S with static autofocus (NO Dynamic) and AF field: 1 Point .

By pressing the shutter button halfway, I take the focus and frame again. The first shot is in focus but the next no. the camera, although I do not raise your finger after shooting, again focuses on the point.

The only way I found it to hold the focus is via the joystick.

Know some other way to fix the Af lock via the shutter button?

I set the focus mode to manual (MF) - and then use the Joystick button for autofocus. That way the shutter button does not alter the focus. Note that the manual states "The lock function of the joystick is canceled as soon as you let go of the joystick" The joystick function is set in the "AE/AF Lock Button" sub-menu of the "Customize Control" Menu.

Since this question is coming up now & then, here are the relevant menu settings:

To fix the focus to the back joy stick, enter the Menu and activate
  • “CAMERA -> Focus Mode -> MF”.
To enable the focus on both the shutter button and the back joy stick, activate
  • “CAMERA -> Focus Mode -> AFs”, or
  • “CAMERA -> Focus Mode -> AFc” (see the manual page 206, right column, for an explanation for AFs and AFc).

In addition, I typically have the following settings activated  (see the manual, page 223, for explanations for AF-L and AE-L):
For auto focus lenses:
  • "SETUP -> Customize Control -> AE/AF Lock Button -> AF Mode -> AF-L + AE-L"
For manual focus lenses:
  • "SETUP -> Customize Control -> AE/AF Lock Button -> MF Mode -> AFs + AE-L"
Enjoy the SL...!
