retcheto Posted April 13, 2018 Share #1 Posted April 13, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone tried an IR conversion on a Monochrom? I know that places like Kolari have plenty of Sony's and things like that, but I've been contemplating getting a second monochrom and converting it. If anyone else has tried it, I'd love to hear how it went

drjho Posted April 20, 2018 Share #2 Posted April 20, 2018 I haven't converted my monochrom, but I shoot IR all the time with an BW 093 filter. The results have been quite good. Have you tried just blocking visible light?

Have you tried just blocking visible light? Which one, M9M or M246?

Belle123 Posted April 20, 2018 Share #5 Posted April 20, 2018 (edited) Before I did the IR conversion on a T, tried the filter route on my 246. For me, was well worth it to do a conversion. But you have to really want to do it and dedicate a camera to IR. The T was a great start and not a deep investment, picking one up used which is even more of a steal now than was then. Earlier I posted some results on the T forum, might still be there. Just found some around page 93..... Edited April 20, 2018 by Belle123
