Back Button focussing on SL

Please advise how to setup bak button focus on the SL....or.......page number in the manual ...or..... and

 

any youtube videos on the subject..

So far I have not found a way to disable AF from the shutter button when using back button AF. Is this possible?

My SL isn't in front of me, but I don't remember this as a problem. Have you tried setting focus to MF?

The af can be fully decoupled from the shutter button - I use this configuration all the time.

 

This is my setup:

 

For AF lenses:  SETUP -> Customize Control -> AE/AF Lock Button -> AF Mode -> AF-l + AE-L

For MF lenses: SETUP -> Customize Control -> AE/AF Lock Button -> MF Mode -> AFs + AE-L

Set the Focus Mode to "MF".
