Live View as soft key - Have I missed something?

I have defined short cuts, or soft keys, in all my menus. Recently I have observed that the LV key only seems to bring up Live View, and not the short cut, no matter for how long I press. The result is the same if I reset all short cuts to factory default. Is this a firmware change that I have missed?

News to me. I have the metering mode set as a shortcut to the LV button, and it always works on a long press.

Yep that's how it used to be but definitely not working no matter how long that finger stays put. I will try reinstalling the firmware (for lack of better ideas).

I have the same issue, every other button that I setup works correctly, but the Live View ignores my custom function to it, I tried long presses, quick presses, very very long presses to no effect.

Precisely! You get a bit desperate and try every imaginable way of pressing. The result: Live View

1. I do use the Monitor/Viewfinder Setting (button right next to the viewfinder) so that only the viewfinder is active.

2. In the menu I have assigned the LV button according to my personal taste to Drive Mode, it works perfectly well with a long press.
