Skill in photography is acquired by practice and not by purchase. You don’t have to know an f/stop from a bus stop to take great photos. Learn the rules; then break them! That's a rule! Nothing beats a good piece of glass. All lenses are equal at f/8. Shoot first, ask permission second, and beg forgiveness third. Your camera’s built-in reflected light meter is always wrong and your hand-held incident light meter is always right, except when the reverse is true.
