GarethC Posted July 5, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 5, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just received the new Luigi half case today and it really sets my mind at ease with regards to kicking about with the M8, I've never been one of those girly man camera-coddlers so now my investment (I use the word "investment" because all my investments go down in value) is safe while I beat the #$%^ out of it. On a seaprate note, I received two batteries, not OEM, with no covers today. My canon batteries have covers. How do you protect the contacts? That was the only question, I really just wanted to gloat about my new case.

Joe Mondello Posted July 5, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 5, 2007 On a seaprate note, I received two batteries, not OEM, with no covers today. My canon batteries have covers. How do you protect the contacts? The OEM batts don't have covers either. I keep mine in small pouches that were lying about from something or other. Kent10D Posted July 5, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 5, 2007 The OEM batts don't have covers either. True, but you will note that unlike a lot of other batteries the Leica (or "Leica-like") batteries have recessed contacts that can't easily be shorted by coming into contact with loose change and the like. Clever, these Leica designers (or the Leica people who chose the already-available design ... not sure about that one). Cheers, Kent.
gwelland Posted July 5, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 5, 2007 I find that very hi-tech expensive small clear plastic bags work perfectly. Not pretty, but good enough for use in the camera bag to keep the crud off.
albertknappmd Posted July 5, 2007 Share #5 Posted July 5, 2007 Luigi also makes a leather M8 battery holder that I use:D
