Clouds of Baltic Sea

the touch of color from the kiosks and the bit of green in the background to the right ...the horizon fools the eye with those low laying clouds which really are the stars of this fine photograph

well seen, exquistely composed and rendered

bravo!

The intensive blues of the cabins in contrast to the brownish beach and the dark skies result in a fascinating contrast. The framing and the rendering is imho perfect. Congrats, a very strong image!

I appreciate your comments, thank you very much for sharing it.

Hans-Dieter I am sorry that you did not like the picture and that you find it to dark, the saturation and contrast to strong. I left the saturation untouched and I pushed the contrast in post processing a bit because I wanted to emphasize the structure of the clouds. The green vegetation, light in the back and blue 'Strandkörbe' (kiosks, I don't know an english word for this thing, that is in my opinion a particular feature on german beaches :) ) are appropriate element that build an interesting scene. I felt the sand to dark too, but pushed it beside. After your objection I took it serious and went back to the post processing and brighten the sand.

Cheers,

Andreas

P.S. I am sorry for a mistake in the titel, I was not able to correct. Titel should be 'Clouds over Baltic Sea'.

Dear Forum Members,

I have to apologize a mistake when posting the second attachment. The first and second attachement are the same file, I confound the two files when posting them. I am sorry for that. For those you are still interested in the brighter version ...

Regrads,

Andreas

Ivan,

at the beginning I thought also the 1st was the better one. But now after a while I think also the brighter one is good and maybe mood. I surely you are right, it is a matter of opinion and taste. I will make large prints to see how that appears. Thanks for your comments.

Regards,

Andreas
