mreddington Posted July 4, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 4, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was wondering what your current thoughts are on coding the CV12. In previous discussions of this, before the latest firmware, the recommendation (e.g. by Sean Reid) was not to use the IR filter. Now that John Milich is producing filter adapters for this lens I wondered what the current collective wisdom is on coding. Presumably this would have to be done as a WATE and set at 16mm, but this is quite a different lens. I would be interested in your current thoughts on this before I get a hankering for yet another lens. Martin
Advertisement Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Hi mreddington, Take a look here Coding the CV12. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
EricC Posted July 4, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 4, 2007 I have the CV12mm with John's LTM8 adapter and i also have one of John's filter adapters on its way. I currently have the adapter coded for the WATE as you say above and am waiting for "Cornerfix" to be ported to the Mac ( which a very kind gentleman on the forum is going to do when it is stabilised on the PC ). I don't think that you will ever get a Leica coding for the 12mm and I assume that by setting the adapter to the WATE it will mean that "Cornerfix" will have less work to do, but i could be completely wrong on this. I would also like to thank John Milich for all of the fantastic adapters that he is not only designing but also producing in such excellent quality. Many thanks John. george_b Posted July 4, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 4, 2007 Me? I use a hand coded LT8 adapter so the camera thinks its a 16mm plus the JM hood/filter adapter. Set the camera to detect, etc. If the corners bother me I can use Cornerfix or a few tweeks in Photoshop. I'll do a profile based on the above when we some reliable sunlight in the UK and I can sort out a large enough target to do a Profile for the above combination. mreddington Posted July 4, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted July 4, 2007 Thanks. I've ordered the JM filter adapter for the CV15 and should probably concentrate on learning to use what I already have before going even wider, but the 12mm is quite attractive and it's good to know that the combination filter+Cornerfix should do the job. chris_p Posted July 4, 2007 Share #5 Posted July 4, 2007 Sean Reid has reviewed the CV 12 and 15 mm Milich filter adapters on his subscription site and has also revealed that he will be making CornerFix profiles, for these lenses, available to Subscribers. Like many others I am waiting for the Mac version of CornerFix and wonder if Sean's profiles are, or can be made, cross platform.
