Advertisement Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Hi theover, Take a look here Leica Q ans lenshood.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Bart van Hofwegen Posted February 5, 2018 Share #2 Posted February 5, 2018 May I advise you to read the manual? The DE/EN one says this on page 149: Removing/affixing the lens hoodAffixing1. Twist off the protective ring thread by turning it counterclockwise2. Twist on the lens hood by turning it clockwise until it stopsTurn it in the opposite direction to remove. Note:Be sure to keep the protective ring thread in a place where it won't get lost. I cannot really find anything to add; unscrew the front ring, then screw on the hood. It might feel tight in the end, but it stops exactly aligned Good luck!
Leica Guy Posted February 5, 2018 Share #3 Posted February 5, 2018 Add a little natural oil from the side of your nose to the hood threads and it will make it much easier to install and remove the hood. An old trick used for decades.
theover Posted February 5, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted February 5, 2018 Thank for your replies , but I cannot unscrew a ring on top of the lens. I will look for someone with stronger hands. Thanks anyway.
HighlandK Posted February 5, 2018 Share #5 Posted February 5, 2018 I never found it took strength, I just found I was gripping it too far back. It really is quite a narrow ring.
Leica Guy Posted February 6, 2018 Share #6 Posted February 6, 2018 Use one of the kitchen pads for gripping screw tops. My wife has several. They’ll make it easier to get enough grip to unscrew it. Or go to a Leica store and have them do it.
