Apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere.

I use a TL2 + 11-23 for WA walk around, and am very happy with the combo. And in good light, the TL2 + 90-280 SL zoom is a wonderful combination for its long reach. But in low light, I can't achieve focus with them. The SL with 90-280 can AF on the moon instantly. With the TL2, I couldn't get a sharp result by AF or MF.

Has anyone had experience with the CL and 90-280 AF in low light? I'm happy enough with the TL2, but if the CL is at SL levels of AF, I might switch.

Thank you,

Matt

Anyone??

I often use the 90-280mm on the CL -which I use as back up for my SL2, same 3 button layout & menu interface- in low light I find AF works quite well, almost on par with the SL2.  I tried it on a full moon several nights ago & it locked onto focus with minimal hunting.

Here's an image taken early evening after sunset, sky was completely overcast, whatever light there was it was flat grey, no issues with AF.
