Per P. Posted January 29, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 29, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I obtained a second hand EVF-2 (the Leica version) in mint condition but without user manual. When switched on there are two little green dots in the viewfinder: One to the right of the aperture indication and the other higher up, about halfway between the bottom and the central focus point. Does anyone know why that is and if I can do something about it?

jip Posted January 31, 2018 Share #3 Posted January 31, 2018 would you say these green dots are a number of pixels making a round dot, or do they look very tiny and more like the size of a pixel?
gbealnz Posted January 31, 2018 Share #4 Posted January 31, 2018 Perhaps post a picture, showing what you mean? Gary

allans1976 Posted February 3, 2018 Share #6 Posted February 3, 2018 I think, it’s a typical issue of older EVF’s. After returning my 2nd hand EVF with the same issue, i ordered a new one. Gesendet von iPad mit Tapatalk Pro
Photomic38 Posted February 3, 2018 Share #7 Posted February 3, 2018 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Per P , I found that my EVF-2 on my X-Vario did not overpower the heat. Sometimes the screen becomes half green or even the entire screen by high heat . Solution, shutdown and restart the camera . The malfunction is normal I think, they are manufactured by Olympus ....This material is not very reactive in case of change of parameters . So, green dots on yours, can be genetic ? Per P. Posted February 3, 2018 Author Share #8 Posted February 3, 2018 Thanks to those who chimed in. In response to earlier questions, the dots are quite a bit larger than a pixel and perfectly round. The largest is maybe 3mm. I have cleaned the contacts as best I can but the main contact point for the EVF is a mini USB so it is not really feasible. I guess I'll learn to live with it.
