Ingo Posted January 14, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've bought a used S-120mm a couple of days ago. My 72mm ND filter doesn't fit and seems to be too small for the filter mount. I measure approx. 73mm with a cheap sliding calliper on the filter mount. I'm wondering if this is an exception or 'normal' for the S-120. Any thoughts?
Advertisement Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Hi Ingo, Take a look here Filter mount on Macro-S-120 too large?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jip Posted January 14, 2018 Share #2 Posted January 14, 2018 It's E72... so if 72mm filters don't fit there is something wrong with either the filter or with the lens.
Ingo Posted January 14, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted January 14, 2018 The filter is okay (fits on other lenses). I will contact Leica.
John McMaster Posted January 14, 2018 Share #4 Posted January 14, 2018 I do not use filters much, I tried my cheap Chinese 72mm IR720 on my 120/2.5 and it fits no problem... john
darylgo Posted January 15, 2018 Share #5 Posted January 15, 2018 (edited) What happens when you try another 72mm filter? Does the barrel look perfectly round? How well does the lens image? Consider returning this lens, this is a huge error in manufacturing if that's the source. Edited January 15, 2018 by darylgo
Photon42 Posted January 15, 2018 Share #6 Posted January 15, 2018 E72 should fit, I agree.
