Chaitea Posted December 18, 2017 Share #1 Posted December 18, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've taken a bunch of photos with my M10 using an unformatted SD card (Sandisk Extreme Pro 64GB SDXC) straight out of the box. The camera didn't complain or ask me to format the card so I thought I could shoot. I tried to copy the photos to both my Macbook Pro and PC using an SD card reader and both Windows and OSX cannot read the card, both OS prompt me to format the card as soon as I connect it but I don't want to lose the photos. The photos seem to be in tact and on the card, I can see them on the M10 viewscreen just fine. I don't have an iOS device so I can't try the Leica app to access the photos, even if I did borrow a friends iPhone would this work? Is there any other way I can copy the photos to my computer? The best I can do seems to be putting the M10 viewscreen on a scanner lol. Any advice would be appreciated.

pop Posted December 19, 2017 Share #2 Posted December 19, 2017 Try and install exFAT support in your operating system.
Chaitea Posted December 19, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted December 19, 2017 Hey pop, thanks for your reply! It was very helpful, because you pointed out that the SD card was pre-formatted exFAT I figured out that the problem was not with the formatting but actually with my card reader (Delkin Devices) which apparently doesn't work with the SD card / format. I managed to read the SD card just fine with my Macbook Pro SD card slot, which didn't work before because it has issues of it's own - I had to slide the card in slowly until it was detected instead of inserting it all the way. Photos looks great, M lenses are just the best. Wow what a camera! My first and only other Leica was an MP and I loved it but stopped shooting film because Fuji discontinued Neopan 1600 and Kodak Portra got expensive. I sold the MP a few years ago to save up for a digital M and the M10 is everything I dreamed of having in a digital M.
Pjay Posted December 19, 2017 Share #4 Posted December 19, 2017 Chaitea, welcome to the forum , and all the best with your M10. Macbook Pro SD card slots can be painful - I had an issue reading cards from my M10 and thought it was a camera issue, but turned out that I needed a new card reader board in the laptop. My nearest Genius bar sorted it out fine, but it was a pain...

microview Posted December 21, 2017 Share #6 Posted December 21, 2017 Glad you managed to see pics on screen. I have a USB Sandisk card reader and it works very well although the model itself is now discontinued.
