i have a d-lux 3 and need to use it along with a bowen studio slave flash. i am using the camera on manual exposure with the flash setting at forced on (no red-eye). when i press the shutter, the leica flashes and the slaves flash at the same time (like it should- so far good), but the images are completely underexposed no matter what aperture/shutter settings i try. please help! i need to get this working ASAP...

thanks for your help,

Jay, it's not apparent, but there is a pre-flash which triggers the slave, but means the slave's light isn't "seen" by the sensor. This pre-flash is not the same as the anti-"red eye" flash. It's for exposure measurement purposes.

What you need is a digital flash adapter, which will allow the slave to ignore the pre-flash. The one I have is made by Wein. See Safe Syncs

You need the "smart flash" adapter.
