Amazon in Australia no threat to Leica dealers

Amazon launched in Australia today, in time for the Christmas splurge. But there is no threat to local camera shops based on current offerings.

 

The Leica Q can be purchased from a Brisbane boutique for AU$5,999, but Amazon lists it at $6,289.

 

Out of curiosity I looked at couple of popular DLSR cameras on the new Amazon site, and all can be bought for less from local bricks and mortar stores.  So far, it's all good news...

Yes, two years ago I bought the M246 through the Leica Boutique then based at Ted's Cameras in Adelaide Street, picked up the M10 this year from the new Leica Boutique just down the footpath at DigiDirect. Ted's surrendered the franchise for commercial reasons.
