Yesterday, in another topic, user cp995 mentioned the Matchtechnical "E-clypse" eyecup magnifier in 0.85x version, for spectacles-wearers having a hard time with 28mm (and sometimes 35mm) framelines.

Looks promising, but I know nothing about the brand... anyone has tried it and can share his/her experience? Are they well built? Is the optics any good?

I've tried just about every diopter available for years in the quest for perfect focus on an M.  For me the extra glass between the camera and eyeball just adds problems, doesn't solve.

 

When I got the 240, I dragged them all out and did tests.  It turned out the most consistent fine focus came from simply wearing my glasses

Thank you Steven, but I wasn't looking for a better focusing, I'm looking for a better framing! (indeed I've asked about the 0.85 eyecup, not the 1.25/1.45 one... ie. a less magnified viewfinder too see more easily the 35 and 28 framelines when I wear my spectacles... it should be a bit like old 0.58 M6s, I guess...)

I'm looking for that kind of a solution too with the M10. My biggest gripe with the camera is the difficulty in seeing the 28mm and 35mm frame-lines, especially the 28mm……it's near impossible to see the frame-lines corner to corner, ( do not wear glasses when shooting with the M's ). I'd really love to be able to have a .58 finder "view" on the M10, actually any M come to that because I rarely shoot 50mm or longer with my M's.

For me my "standard" lens is a 35mm but the most used is probably a 28mm so framing with the present M10 finder is somewhat of a guessing game.

Incidently I find the M240 better in this regard than the M10. I guess the "new improved" finder on the M10 is to blame for the semi-disappearing 28mm frame-lines.

As primarily a 50mm shooter, I miss using M6 fitted with 0.85 VF.  That's an option I'll happily pay extra for on the eventual M11 (assuming a greatly improved sensor)

I too would be pleased to hear an opinion. Wearing spectacles and shooting 35mm on my M240 is nowhere near as comfortable as my M6 0.58.

 

Hopefully someone will be able to help.
