ail Posted October 31, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 31, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm looking for a less expensive alternative to Leica's own TTL flash units. The Metz 44 series caught my attention. Metz makes a Panasonic/Olympus compatible model and I am curious to know if this would work on an M9? Have any forum members tried the 44 on their Digital M bodies? If so, feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Advertisement Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Hi ail, Take a look here Metz 44 AF-1/2 flash for M9?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ko.Fe. Posted October 31, 2017 Share #2 Posted October 31, 2017 It has been asked, tried and reported here and at another forums few times before. Like asking Metz directly and getting response what "no". Pan/OLy TTL is different from Leica M TTL. Different protocols. Your less expensive alternative for M9 is simple, central pin only flash. I have couple of those for few dollars in addition to Leica TTL flash and they works like classic non-TTL flash on my M-E.
