steve_l Posted June 29, 2007 Share #4 Posted June 29, 2007 My WATE submenu comes up each time I select the upper lens detection menu, ever since the first time I put my WATE on - but it happens now even if the WATE is not on!

carstenw Posted June 30, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 30, 2007 Have you two tried resetting the camera by pulling the battery and leaving it overnight? It sounds like the cameras have gotten into a bad state.
jlm Posted June 30, 2007 Share #7 Posted June 30, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) alexander: my first tests with the coded 15mm Helia worked great. I had cut recesses in a Leica thread to m adapter. Until I went out into bright sun for the first time, and then started getting erratic menu and exif behaviour. the problem was light leaking due to the tiny step in the Leica flange. the led to the development of the made from scratch coded adapters that are light tight. I suggest you do a test in bright light and dim light (or somehow cover the potentil leaking area with tape) to see if that effects the menu behaviour
atufte Posted June 30, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted June 30, 2007 Thanks Jim, i was shooting in bright sunlight so that might just be it, i will try later, and of course i want to buy one of your adapters, but i'm on a real tight budget at the moment, building a new kitchen, and bathroom is expensive :-) So until that's done, i will have to use the macgyver method :-) Thank you anyway :-)
ibogost Posted June 30, 2007 Share #9 Posted June 30, 2007 I have seen the WATE menu come up when a WATE was not mounted, a couple times, seemingly randomly
