missing eyepiece

  • 3 weeks later...

A few years ago the eyepiece for my Panasonic DMC L1 got lost too. After some research online I determined that many of the digital SLRs with 4/3 sensors (not of course m4/3 but the original 4/3 cameras) also had the same eyepiece / finder.

So this means you even today can find replacements not only among eyepieces for the Panasonic L1 but also many (if not all) the Olympus cameras of that era - such as the E400, E300, E330, E520, E430, etc etc. And I believe, possibly the Panasonic DMC L10 too of course. Although these are now old cameras I suspect it would be possible to find suitable replacement eyepieces on the internet or eBay specifically. It is also possible to find after market eyepieces for these cameras (the kind which are large, elliptical in shape and fit the eye socket to exclude light from the eye.)

B and H also offer the original Olympus eyepiece for that range of cameras which I am 99% sure fits.  The one in the link below is the Large version (EP-6) but there are also other models such as the EP-7 and EP-8 which are slightly smaller in size but also are designed to fit the same camera eyepieces. So fear not - there are quite a few options. (I know because I researched them a few years ago when this happened to me).

Search the above eyepiece codes and they will turn up online I am sure.
