Giulio Zanni Posted September 14, 2017 Share #1 Posted September 14, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I find it very difficult to unmount the Canon 0.95 from my M-D. The lens barrel is covering the release button and I have to use something like a pen clip to push the release button on the camera body. Anybody using other techniques? Thanks, Giulio

pico Posted September 14, 2017 Share #2 Posted September 14, 2017 I find it very difficult to unmount the Canon 0.95 from my M-D. The lens barrel is covering the release button and I have to use something like a pen clip to push the release button on the camera body. Anybody using other techniques? I have had four Canon 0.95 lenses converted to our M bodies. They all have the same dismounting issue. The solution is just what you described - a thin piece to insert into the gap to push the unlock button. Sorry but it is the only solution. Regardless, it is a small inconvenience to tolerate using that marvelous lens! Enjoy.

spydrxx Posted September 15, 2017 Share #7 Posted September 15, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had mine custom adapted for use on my M4 by Ken Ruth. Removing it from the body was a real pain in the tail, and its wide open performance, IMHO, wasn't that great, although stopped down a little significantly improved its sharpness. After about 1- years use I sold it for a Noctilux, which was a much better lens and a lot easier to manipulate...plus it didn't block the viewfinder anywhere near as much. I'd say forget the GAS for this lens and go for other better choices.

NB23 Posted September 16, 2017 Share #15 Posted September 16, 2017 A breakdown of nanocontrast Oh, you mean the Median-nano contrast? Yes a little bit, but still lovely.
NB23 Posted September 16, 2017 Share #16 Posted September 16, 2017 The canon definitely lacks Delta contrast but that's the charm of it.
pico Posted September 19, 2017 Share #17 Posted September 19, 2017 When I used the Canon 50mm f/0.95 for newspaper work nobody cared a bit about its rendering. I got the shots when flash was prohibited. Today I still like it for all its flaws. Every photo reminds me of the tens-of-thousands of dollars in my retirement fund rather than of a hunk of Leica glass on the shelf.

I just realised that this is indeed much easier when mounting it on the M10 due to the slightly protruding lens mount. No need for particularly long nails either...
