GarethC Posted June 28, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 28, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I....I mean he.... loves the files that come out of the camera. I can't wait to print a few for him. He hasn't reallylooked into the IR sensitivity isue as it just doesn't appear to have manifested itself. I guess there's not too much black polyester in his world. How critical are they? Also, coding doesn't seem to be a big deal unless you are really anal (in the non-proctologist way) about keeping file information with the dng or jpeg file. I hope to be away for a big part of the summer so he won't get much of a chance to get delivery of IR cut filters or get these lenses coded so what does he do while gone? Are either of htese issues such a big deal? Reminds me of the limerick. Roses are red Violets are blue I'm aschizophrenic And so am I.
Advertisement Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Hi GarethC, Take a look here Another question from my idiot friend. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sean_reid Posted June 28, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 28, 2007 The IR sensitivity can have a large effect on color rendition. This depends on subject matter but the sensitivity affects far more than black textiles. Coding is a big deal if one is going to use IR-cut filters with 35 mm and wide lenses on the M8. Are either of htese issues such a big deal? Polyester in the summer is, I am told, pretty uncomfortable so your friend might have trouble finding any to shoot. Don't let him get lathered up by what he read on these threads; just go push him out there and tell him to shoot away. He won't have many shots that disappoint for technical reasons. If he doesn't like it, Jaap will take the camera off his hands.
