Mateo729 Posted September 2, 2017 Share #1 Posted September 2, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) New Q owner here. I noticed the lens hood is very tight to screw into position. Is this normal? Im afraid to break the lens if I twist any harder.
Advertisement Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Hi Mateo729, Take a look here Lens hood position. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
redrider469 Posted September 2, 2017 Share #2 Posted September 2, 2017 It's normal. The last quarter turn feels like you're forcing it but you're not. You can get it centered with the Leica stuff on top. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
HighlandK Posted September 2, 2017 Share #3 Posted September 2, 2017 See postings under Q lens shade issue. You cannot break it and taking it on and off a few times makes it easier. Just be firm and not frightened, keep going until you reach a definite stop.
Mateo729 Posted September 3, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted September 3, 2017 Thanks for the responses. I got it straight after twisting harder. Very scary lol
Leica Guy Posted September 3, 2017 Share #5 Posted September 3, 2017 Covered many times on the forum. Rub a little natural oil from your face or the side of your nose on the threads of the hood or the rubber "O"-ring and it'll be dramatically easier. It's a tried and true easy solution.
