TL2 problem with frequent requests to format SD card and camera lock up

I have had my TL2 for three days now.  A problem that I often have is on startup.  I get a screen that says that I need to format the SD card.  If I try to proceed with a format it just lights up the little red light on the back of the camera and locks up the camera.  If I turn the camera off and on again, most times that will fix it on the first try but not always.  I have tried two different SD cards from different manufacturers, the same problem occurs.  Any thoughts or suggestions.

Today, I tried four SD cards from my other active cameras.  The cards ranged in speed and were from different manufacturers.  I formated each card successfully.  Only shot a few tests photos and tried turning the camera on and off several times.  NO format or lockup problems today.  I will do more testing and report back.

It was not a regular shooting time for me.   Not sure what is going on but on Saturday evening I will be doing some regular family related photos at the family farm with multiple cards and will see what happens.

This can happen if the camera is on when you insert the SD card. Try doing it when the camera is off and see if it still occurs.
