So Now let me tell you my short story. It all started with a brilliant M8, I loved it and used it so often until my shutter started , or better didn't stop going after taking a shot. I called lica back than and asked them what to do, and they said check with the newest firmware if it works. (at that time the new firmware would be avalible next wek) so i did but after the new firmware nothing changed and I thought there must be something wrong. I check these forums and found the posts about the same problem or even worse. ( There they shutter even tears) So I went back to my M8 and checked the shutter, what I saw was a very small bump in one place on the shutter. So I stopped working at all with my M8 and send it to them. (In addition i send in a 75/2, because it was havaely bacfocusing.) After a Week I get a cost estimate around 700 for the M8 and another 600 for the lens... I thought OK something must be wrong, I know 100% I didn't do anything wrong and I don't see any reason why I should pay 1300EUR for damage I didn't do. Also I have to add it's a freaking new camera...

 

So I wrote them back stating that I didn't even came close to the shutter or anything, quotet some pages from the forum, which also showed the problem. GUESS WHAT ?

 

I Still haven't heared from them. So finally on Friday I send them an email again. GUESS WHAT ? I got the note that they got my mail.

 

Sorry but I'm kind of pissed. This is no support this is absolute BS and I thought I payed with my 15.000 EUR not only for a camera but also for a name and service, I GUESS I was wrong... Oh and yes I tried to call them and they said they would come back to me.

 

Now I will try it again tomorrow when I'm back home.

 

---> Over 4 weeks now without camera and I still haven't had any real information from Leica.

 

 

Now the only good part. I ordered the 28-35-50 with my 30% discount and as you all know it out. So I changed to the WATE 2 weeks ago. And GUESS what ? My friedn told me today, that it already arrived back home. NOW THAT's great service. What is so hard on doing something similiar with the M8 repairs ....

 

Sorry but the whole thing is so frustrating, I love the camera but can't use it :-(

................. it's a tough call........ then we all spend our days beta testing software and who knows what else by the bucket-load.......I guess it's grin and bear........more like they are the grinning bears :D
