Baxter Posted June 27, 2007 Share #2  Posted June 27, 2007 The Adobe website seemed to be down for a while. Then I successfully downloaded for both laptop and desktop machines - both via the updater in Lightroom. Alternatively there is a link via lightroom-news and adobe website  HTH. Kent10D Posted June 27, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted June 27, 2007 Just did the update a little while ago. The new version seems to be very nice. It takes full advantage of the features available in ACR 4.1, so you now have a "Clarity" control (essentially local contrast adjustment), and more control over sharpening. There have been a few interface tweaks that make it nicer to use, too. Â Cheers, Â Kent.
Guest guy_mancuso Posted June 27, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted June 27, 2007 Great look forward to this update and several others when I get home after 18 days on the road , perfect timing to process over 6 k in images between NY and Germany , taking Espresso donations to keep me awake. Baxter Posted June 27, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted June 27, 2007 There is now an article by Marting Evening on the above link where he explains some of the new features. This will be added to, culminating in an update pdf to his book.
carstenw Posted June 27, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted June 27, 2007 I look very much forward to getting home and trying the new noise and sharpening tools. The old noise tool was two sliders uncontaminated by any connection to image manipulation algorithms, as far as I could tell, and the sharpening was not much better. Â As for the rest, let's see. robsteve Posted June 27, 2007 Share #8  Posted June 27, 2007 I look very much forward to getting home and trying the new noise and sharpening tools. The old noise tool was two sliders uncontaminated by any connection to image manipulation algorithms, as far as I could tell, and the sharpening was not much better. As for the rest, let's see.  I tried ver 1.1 on some high ISO M8 files and it seems to do a better job on the colour noise.  Robert
