Steve C Posted June 27, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 27, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just took my first shot with my brand new M8. Using a 75 lux. F8 I have been shooting commercial shots of stuff for printed ads for 50 years. Mostly with 6X6 Hassies. I have never ever used my first photo. Until today! Ok, I know how to light an object after all these years. That is a given I bought the M8 for traveling as I am retiring this Friday. So I thought I would use it for my last job as a hoot! WOW! What quality. What a camera! It is one of my best ever shots of stuff! I wish I could share it with you but it belongs to a soap company here in Cincinnati. I have been lurking this forum for a few years but did not post since I was a non-believer in the commercial application of 35mm or digital based on 35mm systems. That has changed with one afternoon in the lab. Now I get to have fun learning Aperture and other digital tools. I feel like a rookie at 70 years old. So have fun at my newbie questions and I am off to Europe to have fun taking tourist shots like the rest of the world. The only difference is I will be using my M8 and all those wonderful Leica lenses. Steve

innerimager Posted June 27, 2007 Share #4 Posted June 27, 2007 Very cool Steve. It's always great to learn new things. But this combo of retiring from commercial photography and jumping into the M8/digital world right off is just wonderful. Enjoy, and looking forward to seeing your work with the amazing M8. best...Peter
