Einst_Stein Posted August 14, 2017 Share #1  Posted August 14, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I decided to sell MATE, Angle finder M, universal polarize filter. Will keep Leica LM 90mm/2.8, LM 50mm.2 and ZM 35mm/2, may sell ZM 25mm/2.8. I am thinking to get 24-90mm. 90-280mm will be a far to reach. I might use FZ300 occasionally for light trips or super tele.

HeinzX Posted August 14, 2017 Share #2  Posted August 14, 2017 When I bought my SL, I sold my M240 and all M lenses. I bought the 24/90 I am very satisfied with it. What I kept were some Canon lenses, i.e. the 70/200 IS 2.8 II because at this time I could not afford to buy the 90/280 and I used it together with the Novoflex adapter on the SL. It worked with good image quality but the AF was not as quick as with the Canon 5 D III (which I sold before). So at least I bought the 90/280, which is a high performer in every respect. What I regret is that I sold the M 18 mm SEM, because sometimes I would like to have a real wide angle lens. And I think  about a Voigtländer Super Heliar with 15 mm- which is not so very expensive and not bulky - maybe in a  couple of months. Concerning strong teles I use a Sony RX10 III - which covers a range of 24 up to 600 mm with a 1 inch chip. This camera is very useful and up to ISO 800 the results are very good. I haven't appreciated super wide yet. The widest I have is ZM 25mm. It is a fantastic lens, but I have problems to manage the perspective distortion. Recently I've seen Laowa 12mm/f2.8 with T/S adapter, which somewhat reduce the issue. I might get it by the time I really want a super wide.  I have thought about the Sony RX10III for the super tele. The problemI have with it is its AF speed. I found FZ300 works better in AF, but the sensor is smaller. I expect Sony to solve the AF problem in the RX10 IV, or Panasonic to upgrade FZ3000 to a 1" version of FZ300 --- with weather seal, 600mm tele, fixed f2.8, etc.  However, I'm not sure I'd put all these needs in one camera system. SL is SL, I'd just use it as it is intended, which happens to be unmatchable by all other means.

If your looking for a 24-90mm I have two which is a bit greedy and would be happy to sell one of them   Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
