butchhul Posted June 26, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 26, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Greetings, M8 should arrive tomorrow. Was wondering? Is anyone doing the mods to the dust shroud on the 35mm 1.4? Understand that this lens is an aquired taste but would like to continue using it. Has anyone used the Ridata 2gb 150X cards and come to any conclusions about them? awaiting with mild trepidation Butch Hulett
Advertisement Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Hi butchhul, Take a look here M8-35mm 1.4 mods-Ritek SD. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
James Mitchell Posted June 26, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 26, 2007 I've used the RiData 4gb x150 card on the M8 with excellent success, but not the 2gb.
sean_reid Posted June 26, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 26, 2007 If you're thinking of the 35/1.4 Aspherical, I think it is (for my purposes) the best 35 mm lens I've ever worked with. Cheers, Sean
carstenw Posted June 26, 2007 Share #4 Posted June 26, 2007 Is this what you mean: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum/26916-how-file-down-pre-asph-35mm.html
wparsonsgisnet Posted June 26, 2007 Share #5 Posted June 26, 2007 Henry, I have a half dozen of the Ridata 2gb 150x cards and have been using them for more than a year with great success. Recently, I bot some Transcend 4gb 150x cards (like Guy uses). I have noticed that these are slower to write to than the Ridata's -- and it's the size of the card, apparently. For my movement shoots I will continue to use the 2gb cards because the M8 writes to them in about 1/2 the time, compared to writes to a 4gb card. Enjoy the M8. butchhul Posted June 27, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted June 27, 2007 Greetings, Seems good news about the RiData cards, been using their CF units in Fuji 2 & 3 and they seem to be very reliable. Have one of the "Made in Canada" pre asph 35mm 1.4's that I like a lot, just seems to be one of those lenses that clicks right, so hope it'll work for me. Most of the complaints seem to be aimed at later made units. Has anybody tried to work out where the problem comes in reference to serial numbers? have fun, Butch
