Keith_W Posted August 12, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 12, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I am a recent convert to the Leica M-system. For the past 20 years, I have always owned a Macro lens - first when I was shooting Canon, and then when I was shooting Sony. I realized that Macro photography is an M-system weakness. I was going to buy a Macro-Elmar M 90mm f/4 when I realized that I could buy a Micro Four-Thirds body (probably a Panasonic GX85) AND a Leica 45/2.8 Macro lens AND a flash gun for less than the price of the M-system Macro lens! There are quite a few reasons why this option is tempting (besides being cheaper). Focusing will be more accurate, thanks to live view on all MFT bodies. I will get more depth of field, which has always been a problem with macro photography. Has anyone used this lens, and any opinions on how it would compare to the M-system 90mm Macro-Elmar f/4?
