SrdjanS Posted August 7, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 7, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone, I am about to start using bulk film in my M6 and M7 and have one question about it. Do I need to cut the beginning of the film (to make that "narrower strip" or whatever you call it) since I don't see a need for that based on a shape of take up spool? pop Posted August 7, 2017 Share #2 Posted August 7, 2017 That depends on the camera with which you are going to use the film. With the screwmount Leicas, trimming the film is highly advisable.

tobey bilek Posted August 14, 2017 Share #4 Posted August 14, 2017 Mandatory or at least highly recommended for screw mounts. I would for modern cameras cut the leader. Use trim from commercial film and trace with pen. cut freehand and make smooth turns so as not to make a tear point. do not cut through a sprocket hole.
